In a case you have completed all three Guiding Race for All courses, you will be able to download your certificate.

Orienteering is more than sport - it is a way to combine movement, navigation, teamwork, inclusion and care for the environment.

In this course, you will learn how to design your own orienteering race - whether it is walking, running, or cycling orienteering race. By the end, you will be able to:

  • Understand the basic principles of course design
  • Understanding the different types of orienteering - walking, running, and cycling (MTBO)
  • Work with maps, checkpoints, and navigation tools.
  • Create races that are fun, safe, inclusive, and eco-friendly.

Orienteering is not just about designing a course—it’s also about preparing everything around the event so that participants have a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive experience. A well-prepared race can turn a simple activity into a community celebration of sport, teamwork, and sustainability.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand how to plan and manage race-day logistics.
  • Set up the course, checkpoints, and timing system.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Orienteering does not end at the finish line. What happens after the race is just as important as what happens before and during. Post-race activities help consolidate learning, celebrate achievements, and strengthen both social bonds and environmental responsibility.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Organize post-race feedback and reflection activities.
  • Celebrate participants and volunteers inclusively.
  • Integrate environmental actions into post-race routines.
  • Use digital tools and networks to sustain the impact of your events.
